Picolaser melasma treatment is effective in fading unwanted hyperpigmentation/melasma. Fading melasma often requires a combination of approaches, including skincare and sun protection. Picolaser not only breaks down the pigment, but also resets the melanin-producing cells in the skin to reduce recurrence. Together with preventative techniques and the right skin care, Melasma can be managed to prevent recurrence.
Contraindications of laser include, pregnancy and breastfeeding, photosensitising medications or supplements, Roaccutane, prescription topical vitamin A, real or fake tan within 2 week of appointment. A minimum of 2 weeks is required between other cosmetic procedures i.e. botox, filler, peels, microneedling, hifu. 4 weeks recommended between Picolaser treatments
